From October 19 to 24, 2023, the 7th National College Student Animal Medicine Professional (Undergraduate) Skills Competition, sponsored by the Joint Meeting of the Presidents of the Chinese Veterinary College, the Chinese Veterinary Association and the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of Animal Medicine Practice and Research of the Ministry of Education, and hosted by Hunan Agricultural University, was held in Changsha, Hunan Province.
There are 72 agricultural and forestry colleges and universities participating in this competition, including China Agricultural University, Jilin University, Huazhong Agricultural University, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, South China Agricultural University, Yangzhou University and other well-known universities in China. Vice President of our hospital Wang Lei led the team, Yin Mei, Han Qinggong and Hang Bolin were the instructors for the competition, and animal medicine students Lv Chenyang, Yang Qun, Feng Huimei, Zhang Runxiao and Zhao Shuqi participated in the competition. After the fierce competition in all aspects of the competition, the representative team of our institute won the "second prize" of the competition.
This competition has enhanced the understanding and friendship between the participating universities, tested the practical skills of undergraduates majoring in animal medicine, effectively stimulated the enthusiasm of students for professional learning, and played a good role in promoting the construction of the first-class undergraduate specialty of animal medicine in our hospital.
