Introduction
Founded in 1951 and formerly known as the animal husbandry and veterinary department, the college of animal science and technology is one of the longest teaching departments in Henan university of science and technology. The college now has 4 undergraduate majors, including animal medicine, animal science, animal quarantine and animal medicine. Veterinary medicine and animal husbandry is a key discipline of Henan province, with the authorization of the master's degree in veterinary science and animal husbandry and the authorization of the master's degree in veterinary science and agriculture (breeding field), the authorization of the doctor of veterinary medicine for project construction, and the establishment of the academician workstation and postdoctoral research and development base. The college of animal science and technology is the vice chairman of animal micro-ecology in China, vice President of veterinary pathology in China and director of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine in China.
College has eight undergraduate teaching laboratory, at the same time has a central laboratory, animal training center, animal hospital, specimen, animal disease diagnostic center, feed research institute, institute of veterinary drugs, dynamic interactive virtual simulation laboratory, animal husbandry and remote network lab, the microscopic digital interaction lab such as 10 auxiliary teaching institutions.
The college now has 90 faculty and staff, 2 academicians, 3 special professors and 1 teaching consultant. Currently, there are 13 professors, 34 associate professors, 33 master tutors, 16 part-time tutors, 42 ph. d. degree teachers, 8 ph. d. candidates, and all young teachers under 35 years old have master degrees. 1 country has outstanding contribution expert, national excellent teacher 1 person, 3 provincial outstanding talents, 1 provincial tube experts, provincial outstanding youth science fund gainer of 4, 6 provincial excellent teachers education system, 1 academic technical leaders at the provincial level, provincial colleges and universities innovation talent project winner 2 people, 5 academic technology leaders, provincial backbone teachers 20 people.
The college adheres to the teaching work as the center, and pays attention to the knowledge teaching, ability cultivation and quality improvement. Currently, the college has 1,500 undergraduates, 48 master graduate students, and 8 postdoctoral students jointly enrolled in the station. The specialty of animal medicine is a provincial characteristic specialty, and the specialty of animal science is a provincial comprehensive reform pilot specialty.《Animal Pathology》and《Animal Immunology》is a provincial excellent courses,《Animal Microbiology》is a province of bilingual teaching demonstration course,《FoodSafety of Animal Origin》is province boutique video courses,《Veterinary Microbiology》is a graduate student education province high quality courses,《Livestock Microbiology》and other six courses are school-level courses. Feed science teaching team is a provincial teaching team. In 2004, our college began to recruit postgraduate students, and has trained more than 150 postgraduate students.
The college actively carries out school-enterprise cooperation and social services. Currently, there are 42 off-campus internship bases, 15 of whom are employed as science and technology commissioners in Henan province, 6 of whom are employed as experts in the farmer cooperative service group in Xinxiang city, and 34 of whom are employed as talents in the three districts. Every year, the college organizes experts to carry out sunshine project training, vocational education teacher training and cultivation training. Set up animal epidemic prevention and control service team, scientific and technological service team in the countryside, doctor service team and other organizations, and carry out scientific and technological services in the front line of breeding.
