From October 27 to 29, 2023, the fourth National College Student Animal Science Professional Skills Competition, sponsored by the Animal Science Professional Skills Competition Alliance, guided by the Animal Production Professional Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, and hosted by Nanjing Agricultural University, was held in Nanjing.
Nearly 700 judges, leaders, instructors and competitors from 68 universities, including China Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University and Zhejiang University, participated in the contest. The competition is divided into four competition items: ecological livestock farm planning and design, feed raw material identification, chicken semen collection and artificial insemination, pig body shape score, living backfat thickness and eye muscle area measurement. Xie Hongbing, Miao Zhiguo, Wang Yongqiang, Liu Baoguo, Wei Guanghui and Wang Dandan from our college were the instructors of the competition. Ban Ziying, Qi Xili, Luo Xinyue, Wang Huihui and Niu Genqing participated in the competition. After the fierce competition in all aspects of the competition, the team of our college won the "first prize".
This competition is a national and authoritative animal science professional skills competition in the field of animal science, aiming to further promote the reform of practical teaching and practical teaching system construction of animal science majors in colleges and universities, strengthen the training of professional skills and practical hands-on ability, and comprehensively improve the comprehensive quality and training quality of college students. The excellent results achieved in this skill competition highlight the importance our college attaches to the cultivation of students' professional skills, and play an important role in further improving the quality of animal science professionals
